Last August, SAP announced the latest release of the SAP Business One application. This new release accelerates time-to-value, facilitates business adaptability and increases ease-of-use and affordability. Developed using the latest .NET and web-based technology, SAP Business One is designed to enable small business owners to make quicker and smarter decisions to in turn effectively manage their entire business and future growth. This latest release has been in ramp-up, and is due to be in general release in the next month or so.
SAP Business One v8.8 appeals to both current customers, and new prospective customers. Those who are on a previous version of SAP Business One have much to gain by upgrading. V8.8 provides new features like data archiving, improved performance and better overall data management. It also includes embedded Crystal reporting (with "golden arrow" drill downs to source documents), enhanced multiple Unit of Measures, available-to-promise (ATP), and Fixed Assets.
V8.8 also enables new, optional integrations for the iPhone, eCommerce shopping carts, and embedded business analytics through Crystal Xcelsius. There is also new add-on for sales that provides improved sales "work bench" abilities, along with email and word integration. A new marketing add-on enables you to design marketing campaigns, import lists, develop survey questions, and effectively track marketing campaigns ROI. And a new integration to UPS Ready allows seamless shipping without the use of World Ship.
The new SAP Business One release includes an upgrade wizard that is simple and straightforward, reducing customer's downtime to a minimum. In addition, the new release integrates to partner applications and business services. Based on the flexible business platform of SAP Business One, small businesses can quickly start with core business management applications and add additional capabilities over time with easy-to-set up & use business applications. And now, customers are able to more easily extend their solutions with cloud-based applications, mash-ups and mobile integration, reducing start-up costs and dedicated IT staff.
